CONGREGATIONS FOR THE HOMELESS

What is it?  How will it affect me?  When will it happen?  Why do we participate?  Who is involved?  CFH is a chance for churches on the Eastside to host 30 homeless men for a month.  These men have been carefully screened and have to meet strict requirements to be a part of the program.  The men will be using Fellowship Hall from 6:30 pm to 6:45 am Aug. 1st to 31st.  The effect on our congregation will depend on you.  There are many ways that you can volunteer, such as bring food on a Sunday or Wednesday night and stay and dine with the men, lead a Bible study, wash a load of towels or clothing, help unload the van on Aug. 1st or repack the van on Aug. 31st.   We know from past experience that we (individually and collectively) benefit as much as do the men.  Make this summer a warm experience for you and your family and the men that are our guests in August

IT’S VBS TIME – Crocodile Dock style!

We have been busy getting ready for your Bayou Adventure.  Pick up a registration form in the office, if you haven’t already, or find it on our web site at www.oppc.org.  Invite your neighbors and friends to participate.  This is a wonderful way to introduce them to the love of Jesus.  Hurry while we still have openings (maximum 10 for preschool and 50 for K-5th grade).  We will not have lunch every day like last year.  Instead, we will have a celebration lunch on Friday.  Registration is $20.00 which includes the program, a T-shirt, the celebration lunch on Friday and one CD per family.  Contact Michelle Scharke, VBS Director, or Pastor Vonna for more information
