The Drama of the scriptures

“The way we understand human life depends on what conception we have of the human story. What is the real story of which my life story is part?” - Lesslie Newbigin

Join us this Spring as we study the complete biblical story of scripture and encounter its intersection with the story of our lives. All of us have people, experiences, and places that have shaped who you are. But, we often forget to consider the larger story of which our lives are a part - the story of God’s pursuit of the world God loves.

Our study will begin with creation and walk through the fall, redemption, and the mission of the Church always coming back to who we are in the larger context of God’s Story of Salvation.

Recommended books to accompany the sermon series:

The Daily Bible by F. LaGard Smith

The Drama of Scripture: Finding Our Place in the Biblical Story by Craig G. Batholomew and michael w. goheen

The Story: The Bible as One Continuing Story of God and His People by Max Lucado (foreward) and Randy Frazee (foreward)

Summer Sermon Series

July 2 - September 3

Boldness in Prayer

In The Lord’s Prayer, we find an invitation to understand the power of our relationship with God when we boldly approach God in prayer. Uttering phrases like “Thy will be done” invites God to be God in the most powerful way. Asking God to test us, give to us, forgive us, and deliver us - these are strong reminders of the daily conversation God invites us into.

This summer, you are invited to explore and expand your prayer life as together we study The Lord’s Prayer in worship. Interested in growing deeper? Create your summer reading list from our Staff Recommended Reads on prayer and/or invite a group to a book discussion on the prayerbook of your choice! God is waiting to be in conversation with you. Do not miss this opportunity to understand that conversation more deeply.
